Mumbai Chabad House threatened with new terrorist attack
08 January 2010
The Chabad House in the Indian city of Mumbai, which was the site of a terrorist attack in November 2008, has received an anonymous letter warning of another attack. Israeli media reported that the hand-written letter included a picture of Hitler and included the message "Israel is dogs. We will strike again – Heil Hitler." The Chabad House was one of several places attacked by suspected Islamic gunmen during the attacks in Mumbai, which lasted three days. Six people inside the building, including Director Rabbi Gavriel Noach Holtzberg and his wife, Rivka, were murdered.
A Chabad representative confirmed the letter's content to the Israeli news service ‘Ynet’ and noted that his colleagues had notified the Indian as well as Israeli authorities. In December 2009, Israel's Counter-Terrorism Bureau had canceled an advisory against travel to India, citing a drop in the threat of terror in that region.
