New York - On Monday, December 10, the World Jewish Congress American Section welcomed WJC President Ronald S. Lauder and Secretary General Michael Schneider. After Schneider described the series of high-impact international interventions by the WJC President during the past several weeks, President Lauder stressed the importance of adding voices to the WJC’s mission, within the United States and globally. Schneider also described how the WJC’s Young Professionals Diplomatic Corps has been molded into an effective advocacy force, most notably in securing Interpol’s recent decision against the suspects in the 1994 AMIA bombing.

Sessions included meetings with Mexican political leaders, U.S. State Department officials, and church leaders from Mexico and Canada. Substantive contributions were made by young community leaders from across the Western Hemisphere. |

| Geneva – The WJC assembled a delegation to the UN Human Rights Council’s Special Session on Darfur, composed of Jewish student leaders from Israel, Europe and the United States, as well as African refugees from Rwanda and Darfur and a major American Jewish leader. The Darfur refugee addressed the session on behalf of the WJC’s delegation. |
