The World Jewish Congress Steering Committee is comprised of
democratically elected leaders of Jewish communities and institutions
from around the world and considers matters that include policy,
governance, finance and administration. It acts on behalf
of the Governing Board between meetings. The committee consists
of the WJC President, the Chairman of the Governing Board,
the Chairman of the Executive Committee, the Treasurer, the
Presidents of WJC’s five regions
and the Chairman of the Jewish Agency / World Zionist Organization.
The body meets four to six times a year. The last meeting
of the Steering Committee was held in New York on 07 May 2007.
